Everything you need to know about
access badges

Access to any security zone of AIGE is subject to holding an access badge issued by ASAIGE, the competent authority.
The access badge allows its holder to enter the airport’s restricted areas and also enables the identification of persons and vehicles accessing the platform.

There are two (2) types of access badges at AIGE, namely the “badge” and the “vehicle pass (sticker)”.

  • The badge grants access to individuals.
  • The vehicle pass (sticker) grants access to vehicles.

These access passes are divided into three categories:

  • The permanent access badge is valid for one (1) year and remains valid until December 31 of the current year.
  • The temporary access badge is issued for a validity period ranging from two (2) to thirty (30) days.
  • And the occasional access badge, which is valid for twenty-four (24) hours.

    Responsibilities of access pass holders

    The badge is strictly personal and must be worn at all times. Its holder is required to comply with airport access regulations and the instructions of security officers. Any fraudulent use or use outside the authorized area indicated on the badge may expose the offender to regulatory sanctions or a fine. In the event of loss, the holder must:

    • Report the loss of the access badge to the Airport Gendarmerie Brigade.
    • Report the loss to ASAIGE services (with a copy of the loss declaration).

    Sanctions relating to misuse of access passes

    Concerning the sanctioning of violations of security and police measures in force at the Gnassingbé Eyadéma International Airport (AIGE).
    This decision aims to remind users, staff, and partner organizations of the importance of strictly complying with airport security rules as well as applicable police regulations on the platform. It also specifies the control procedures and the penalties incurred in the event of non-compliance, in accordance with the laws and regulations in force.

    Pricing table

    Any access pass granting entry to a restricted airport security area is subject to a fee, unless a special exemption is granted by the ASAIGE Coordinator. Access pass fees (badges and vehicle stickers) are determined according to their period of validity.
